Welcome to Dominical, Costa Rica

Costa Rica: a feast for the senses! Riotous color, the textures of sand and sea, sounds of bright birds and waves, aromas of salt and strange flowers, a refreshing sip of pipa fria!

Join us for a week of luxury, with chef prepared meals, a gorgeous pool, inspiring expressive art projects, yoga, a guest herbalist and optional surfing lessons, waterfall hikes and other local adventures.

Our 18,000 sf home - Casco Amarillo - is on 5 acres on a ridge 100 ft above Playa Dominical and the Pacific Ocean.  The property is surrounded by heavy jungle and there is a wide variety of animal and bird life on the grounds including sloths, white face monkeys, toucans and scarlet macaws.

Our trip philosophy is simple and wonderful: you have a beautiful bedroom of your own, with many options for time to yourself and engagement with the group. Meals are healthy and delicious and prepared by a local chef. We and our facilitators encourage and excite you to engage your creative self in a variety of ways, all optional.  Disengage from your routine and let yourself dream and have fun!

OUR CREATIVE ITINERARY INCLUDES:

Tropical Plant Dyes With Katie Browning

Discover the beautiful rainbow of colors that surround you and learn how to make gorgeous, natural plant dyes for oil and water bases. From the deep red of Achiote to the brilliant orange of Turmeric root or dreamy blue of Butterfly Pea, the tropical plants will dazzle you with their colorful beauty!

Yoga and Dance with Nicole Setty

We will explore yoga poses without pushing or forcing, and undo patterns of holding and tension - We will also move to fun, upbeat music to get our bodies awake and moving for the day. Nicole will offer this every morning, for whoever wants to join! For all levels.

Expressive Art with Abby and Cindy

We will facilitate a project inspired by the incredible nature surrounding us. Using foraged items found on the beach and in the jungle, we will create beautiful, abstract, mixed media pieces!

Why do we love the sea? It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think.
